My trusty old Sigma 18-200 has finally given up the ghost and I am looking for a decent walkaround lens to take where a bag full of lenses would be restrictive, ie I would use the 18-200 for aerial shots and then go walking around outside of the airfield (weight & balance for the aeroplane would have to include the camera kit as well as my passengers!)

There seem to be two camps, the Tamron 16-300 and the Sigma 18-200.

Could anyone who uses either of these lenses with a 7dii please post some examples and feedback about the lenses with the camera.

I know some of the pros & cons between the lenses already, Sigma is supposed to be sharper but the Tamron has faster focussing is weather sealed and of course goes to 16mm rather than 18mm but has poorer picture quality

Any help would be most appreciated

Thanks

Ashley

How about the Canon 18-200mm?

I usually take an EF-s 15-85mm as my walkabout lens and have an EF 100-400mm IS II in it's case for extra reach when needed.

I'll check out the Canon, thanks.

I usually take my trusty Sigma 50-500 (non IS) with the 7dii and have started taking my 40d with a Sigma 10-20 as well.
But this is quite a bit of kit for hiking and more so for a trip around a museum or other such event so I was looking at an all-in-one for these 'holiday snap' type events

I'd say that 90% of my recent holiday snaps were taken using the 15-85mm
