I'm an idiot....

I had sat it down against a wall attached to a big softbox, then it fell backwards and hit the floor....
It still works, which is testament to the build quality as it's a stone floor and it was a fairly hard thump it took.
However, the modeling light no longer works... I thought it was just the bulb but tried one from one of my other smart flash strobes (I've got 3 now) and it didn't work...

Any ideas what might have broken or how to fix it? I only bought it last week lol so fancy a go at fixing it :)

Please don't, we have an engineer who knows how to fix these things without killing himself:) Get in touch with me to arrange it, I'm sure it won't cost much.

cheers :) that's a good offer :)

I will see if I can post it.....

As a side note... I'm quite into tinkering with electrical things, I'm not afraid of a soldering iron lol, is there anything specifically dangerous in one of these? I think I remember being warned about residual charge in capacitors...

Please, don't even think about it, the residual charge in the storage capacitors can be lethal. The engineer has a clever contraption that discharges them, that's why he's still alive:)

Send me an email, I will reply with details of the returns form, we will then get it sorted out.

Ok cool, thanks Garry :) totally my fault, I'm careless lol, but well done to the flash for staying in one piece, Ithought it would have been smashed, but apart from the modeling light not working it hasn't got a mark :)

I have a 1/8" crater in my left arm that was caused by me forgetting to discharge some caps while working on an old guitar amp.

I would send it to Garry's Tech man.

I used to build guitar amps :) little one valve things, like the old fender champ, my uncle was a valve technician way back in the day and he helped me figure out all out, also have a book with diagrams and things :)

And yeah I've managed to electrocute myself the odd time lol.....

Ok I managed to fix it :) didn't need to open it, just found out the bulb holder had moved slightly so some twisting and it's good as new :)

Have to say I'm impressed.... these strobes are tough, I've got 3 of them and can't praise them enough.
