The pen has failed on my old Wacom Bamboo tablet. Having looked online, pens cost almost as much as some of the new far east tablets.

Has anyone else bought a cheap Huion or other unknown brand tablet? They don't look too bad from reading reviews.

I have used a Huion for some time and have recently switched to a Wacom. I found the Huion a great tablet to learn on and in some ways it is better than the Wacom I have replaced it with. The screen is larger on the Huion and there are various "buttons" on the outside of the screen which are programable. Why change then? The Huion was a little too large for my limited desk space and the smaller Wacom lets me have both the tablet and keyboard alongside each other which has proved very useful. The Wacom requires a degree more care when tracing things probably because the screen size is smaller and greater control is needed. In that sense I found the Huion more forgiving whilst I learnt to use a tablet.

I still have the Huion and if you want to make the change I could let you have it for a good price if you want to give it a try.

Good luck with your decision.

Thanks for the offer, and I really appreciate it. However, my Wacom seems to have started working again, so I am going to persevere with it for a bit longer.

No problems. It is always better to work with tools you have experience of than get used to new ones.

Over some years, and with different Windows versions, sometimes I've found Wacom tablets to be a bit touchy about which drivers they have installed.

Another thing I've found since Windows 10 arrived - turn off an unwanted and pesky app called Windows Ink. It interferes with the Wacom operation!

I've got a wacom one somewhere that bought ages ago and never really got on with.
You are more then welcome to it, free, not sure what model it is but
if you are interested I'll find it and have a look
