Saw ref to this on my Google feed

Windows 10 update could be damaging your SSD

Earlier Windows 10 update caused issues with the drive optimization tool

Makes me wonder if I need to disable SSD trim as a precaution?

What I find bizzare reading the article is that the update is designed to help with HDD defragmentation......but oh so many PCs have SSD installed, so what were the update programmers thinking in regard to the effects on SSD's ???

FWIW

I did check the status of W10 settings and it has never 'optimised' the SSD's that I have installed i.e. it is a purely user selected operation.

In regard to TRIM this is what Crucial say about it:-

you can't defrag an SSD the OS detects it and just performs a TRIM
