I've seen the Vitruvian man tripod around and adverts in a lot of places but not any real person reviews. Does anyone have one? Is it worth that price tag?

I have one of these tripods (the CF one) but not used it much in anger. Feels sturdy and stable, although not quite as S&S as my Manfrotto 190 pro but of course, the Giottos is a LOT lighter so less of a pain to carry or take on holiday. I'm taking it on holiday next week (as well as the wife), so should be able to give a better review once I've used it a bit more.

Beth, my philosophy has always been to buy the best you can afford. If you do a lot of walking with your kit, then this might be a good option. The only thing I don't like about it is the screw release. I'd prefer a clip of sorts.....

I was looking for a carbon fibre travel tripod recently and looked at the Vitruvian in my local Jacobs.
I wasn't particularly impressed with the stability when I put a 5D and a 24-105 on it using my own light ball-head.
I finished up with a Benro Travel Angel which feels steadier to me. The Vitruvian just felt like an expensive toy.

I also have a Benro Travel Angel. They are really well made. I spotted this Benro Travel Angel on Amazon the other day, which seems like bit of a bargain.

Simon.
