Hello everyone,
I'm looking for an advice about places to see in Snowdonia and cetrainly Norther Wales too, by the end of February I'll go to stay there for four days and my goal is to hike at least 10 miles a day to take landscape pictures and hopefully, if I'm lucky snap a picture of a milky way.
My time in Wales is very limited and looking at flickr or google maps it's more than I could possibly grasp thus making most of my time is vital, any directions appreciated.

Thanks

if mountain hiking and a central base area is required ,you would probably be best basing yourself in llanberis .snowdon on the doorstep and easy access either to the north wales coastal area via the A55 or on to angelsey ,or down the other side to the lleyn peninsular and porthmadoc etc .if you haven't been before and i'm assuming by this post you haven't its a vast area and we frequently hear of people having to be rescued off the mountains .make sure that someone knows where you are at all times and a fully charged mobile is essential equipment .

the weather up here due to the mountains changes extremely fast and its not unknown to get 4 seasons in one day ,if you know what i mean .you certainly will not be short of photo opportunies

.have a good time and be careful

Thanks for your replies, I will defintetly take that into consideration.

Safety is something I never take for granted so thanks I will always keep my phone with me and take plenty of water too.

Never take for granted your mobile will have a signal, do you carry a whistle with you, like a referee whistle,. 3 good blows on it for a distress call, always a good idea to carry one of these while out n remote areas :-)

Hi Rudlin would like to echo points from above Llanberis great base camp especially if visiting Anglesey like Steve suggests fantastic place to be with camera, there is plenty of snow around on the upper summits and the ground around snowdonia is very rocky and you can't afford to fall and hit your head especially if walking alone like myself on most outings, I always leave a note on the kitchen table with wife as she is in bed when I leave the house a stupid oclock, a bivie bag is also a must and warm clothing as well as a whistle incase you go down can be a life saver.

If you are planning on 10 miles per day then you must get the Nantlle ridge in, great place to be and the chances are you will not see many people as it is the quieter side of Snowdon, with stunning views towards the summit.

I hope you have a great photography trip and the light plays ball for you

The most dramatic landscape to hike through is arguably the Glyderau mountains from Ogwen... some great views into Cwm Idwal and across to the Glyderau and the summit landscape is fascinating.. although in the current weather conditions summits are likely to be hazardous so crampons are a good idea and I'd advise not climbing Tryfan, only for the most experienced/well equipped in winter.

For photography alone there's no need to climb the mountains as Snowdonia is blessed with many wonderful locations with easy access

Thanks again for your replies, I will definetely stick to the main routes, not planing on climbing onto some mental places I've just seen people being in on youtube in Snowdonia. Would be great fun, but not this time.

With your input I'm starting my sketch for Snowdonia trip and this look very promising.
