My Visa for India arrived this morning. So it looks like all systems go.
I am off to Hyderabad for about 4 weeks to help in the setting up a sawmill & then training the local folks how it all should work.
At the end of this I was asked if I would like a week in Goa or to go up country on an elephant safari looking for tigers. Tigers won!
Never been to India before so it should be very interesting. Might even manage to take a few pics.

Wow sounds like you're gonna have a great experience. Will you have web access so you can keep us posted with pics? Guess we know where your forum name comes from now.

Dont know about web access as this has all come about in a bit of a hurry.
Aye I am a broken doon sawmiller. 40 years at the game. Started when I was just a boy (honest).
I Have never had much to do with indian people but if they are all like the ones I met recently about this trip then they are a very friendly helpful bunch.

Keep safe, have a great time and come back to us soon with all those lovely pics

Have a great time.

If you see any interesting wood I can have for free bring it back for me ;)

Don't forget to try lovely Hyderabadi Biryanis:razz:    and the local South Indian delicaies (I would suggest to take along a bottle of Pepto Bismol along :) :)

Also in Hyderabad, don't miss Charminar http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charminar

Have a great time.

If you see any interesting wood I can have for free bring it back for me ;)

The mill where I will be doing the training only cuts Teak. They bring in the logs from Burma. Me being me will first & foremost want to see proof they have not been illegally felled. If they have been illegally felled then I am not playing.
