Just downloaded this programme as a plug in for my cs3 on vista & it does nothing, where am I going wrong? Is this worth trying with or is it all a bit pants anyway?

Thanks for any help recieved.

Not sure but is this not a plug in that allows photographers coming from the world of film to be able to recreate the look of film using a digital camera.

Its a good little plug in, is it not at the bottom of your Filters tab in CS3
Dave

Did you install VP or VPstudio? VP is the plug in, VPstudio is a stand alone program.

Also check your plug in's folder in CS3 to make sure its there, if not manually drop the 8BF file into the folder.

Did you select the plugins folder when asked where you wanted to install it?

how strange.....I have just downloaded it, put it in my 32bit CS5 Adobe>CS5>Plugins>Filters folder when I open CS5 32 bit it is greyed out under the Filter tab and yet it is in the right folder.
It is not at all in CS5 64bit.
Strange and yet when I had it in CS3 it installed and worked a treat

Just put it in Plugins not Plugins>Filters

Put it in plugins and it still did not work, tried it again in filters and no luck.
Sorry..I'm lost, dont know what is wrong

Can you see it in the Plugins folder?

Is it the only filter greyed out? your not in 16 bit are you??

I think you need to re initialise the plugins. To do that you need to reset your prefs file so try holding Ctrl-Alt-Shift while starting cs3 up and you should get a prompt to delete the file, click yes and it will reset your prefs to default and when you restart it will reread all the plugins and stuff.

Thats it.....put it into CS5 32 bit Plugins>Filters and changed the input image to 8bit and virtual photographer is not greyed out and works OK.
Thanks for the info.
