Virgin email

Virgin email is having problems again according to the service status page.
Seems to affect those who use MS Outlook or OE.
Works OK direct from the webmail site, but currently getting error messages if I try to send mail with OE (just as of 0900).

Anyone use alternative email clients, such as Thunderbird, with Virgin without problems.

I'm getting a similar problem actually.

I've recently signed up for a virginmedia.com e-mail address, but couldn't send emails in Outlook Express.
Switched to Thunderbird, and with the right settings doesn't seem to be a problem.

I use thunderbird and don't seem to be having any problems. There was a message some time back to say that they would be switching off some old systems and that minor changes to settings needed to be made. So not sure if this is as a result of that.

I'm also getting similar reports of problems on other forums that I use, so seems fairly widespread.

Just checked my inboxes and all seems to be working fine.

Cheers - a few weeks ago Virgin said to me that there were compatibility issues with MS email software and Virgin webmail.
Working normally again now, but it happens a few times per year.
