Hi guys,

At the moment I use paper in the studio but after working with some vinyl today I am going to make the switch as at £52 a roll the paper isn't cheap! The vinyl I was working on was from Lastolite and costs around £280 and I have been told it is easy to clean and can withstand bleach etc.

My question is, what would be the difference between the Lastolite version and the cheaper options you see on eBay? I'm usually a fan of buy cheap you buy twice but surely vinyl is just vinyl?

Anyone use the cheaper eBay stuff or know of anywhere cheaper to buy the stuff?

Read this thread and especially the last few posts

Thanks Garry, Tony Beal looks like the choice then, expensive but worth it by the sounds of it. The vinyl I used today was spot on, no kinks and rips like paper. It's the cleaning that attracts me, I have having to replace paper after a few shoots because kids etc have gor finger marks and go d knows what on it!

Hi Iain,

Did you get vinyl in the end, if so how was it and where did you source it ?

Just setting up a new space at home and looking for 2mtr wide vinyl backdrops for low and high key so any experiences would be welcome.

Cheers

Mark

Hi, I've been using vinyl bought from ebay for months and its no different now from the day I bought it, the one I use is white but have seen a double sided one that's white on one side black on the other. Hope this helps.
