Hi all

I have been playing around with various HDR Software and getting a bit of an odd problem with images processed in Photomatrix, every processed image shows Vignetting in the corners that looks like the lens hood is in view, but none of the individual images show any signs of Vignetting, it is also not present in the HDR images produced by the other software I have.

Anyone know why photomatrix is producing images with Vignetting.

Thanks for any help with this

Paul

Nope! Sorry not helpful... Have you checked the vignetting settings at the bottom right?

It's because it's probably exaggerating already existing vignetting you probably don't notice normally. Are you running your raws through the correct lens profile in Lightroom or Adobe Camera raw before you load them into Photomatix?

I use a Lumix camera so all the profiles are applied automatically in RAW & Lightroom.

I did check the corners of the original images with the info picker in photoshop which should show any brightness variation and that shows nothing.

It quite a pronounced vignette as well, looks more like the lens hood is clipping rather than a general brightness falloff, just find it odd that its not seen in any of the individual files.

Can you share the raw file for the centre exposure somehow?

You are using a full set of images for the HDR aren't you?

I'd suggest taking a shot with something right in the corner of the frame (without the lens hood on) and see what happens then, compare the frames in say lightroom and Photomatrix, it may be one is showing more or less of the frame for some reason. Oh if your using DNG it did have a known issue of hiding the frame edges. there was a recover edges tool designed for it.
