Viewfinder thingy that goes on back of LCD screen

Sorry, but I haven't got a clue what you mean. Perhaps if you offer a better explanation, you might have more luck?
 
The Zacuto is designed to fit onto a camera rig and has the fittings for it. The Hoodman is a "free standing" unit. If you are just playing at video the the Hoodman is the better option.
 
I have an LCDVF which is similar and is very good. It depends on how much focus you are going to be pulling, or if you're just going to set focus on a shot and leave it.

Running handheld any loupe will also stabilise the camera very nicely.

The Zacuto is nice because it doesn't need you to stick anything to the back of your camera.
