View NX any good?

I'm looking for a photo organiser to view images etc, something thats better then standard windows Explorer.
I know my D5000 comes with View NX. so is this anygood? or would i be better off getting something like photoshop elements or Lightroom and use the organisers in that software?
OR are there better ones out there preferably free

I would say go for Lightroom but it is not free.

You'll have to define "better off".

As ViewNX is free and designed to work with your camera, it has a lot going for it. It also does 99.9% of the picture processing you're likely to want.

Works well for me although it does randomly crash every now and again.

I don't like the output from any other RAW converters -- so thumbs up from me
