Decided I looked more into this balancing stereo sound on a camcorder. There is a lot more in it than one thinks , no wonder there are sound engineers with film making.
On the panasonic HC-X1500 yes it has microphone for directional sounds as do most cameras and camcorders, generally they have wind rumble which is hard to get rid of or an extrnl microphone with a muffler "deadcat".
It is when I decided to go down the indivual split sound route purely out of interest it gets interesting. Pre recording sound test I can now understeand the need for it.
On this camcorder handle has 2 XLR ports and individual adjustments for sound. I am using a microphone that does stereo and directional (to different XLR ports) but could just as easily use two different microphones set at different distances from the sound source.

AS the photo above shows the settings for each channel ,this overrides the camcorder microphone. Several choices either manual or automatic, such as which channel for which port on the other side. as shown few more settings to play with to get it right. Gets a bit confusing at first and I am still learning. However the hopefully overall ending is getting better stereo effects. Update had one ear wax blockage now Professionally cleared
