Video Slider Advice

Just started doing some photography work for a construction firm - the owner expressed an interest in having some video shot of his guys working on various jobs.

I've got the idea in my head that a video slider would be a worthwhile bit of kit to invest in for this sort of thing and the look I'd be going for. Anyone got any suggestions as to what I should be looking for or products that I should consider. Complete newb when it comes to shooting DSLR video.

for future reference, just Report the first post in the thread and ask for it moving, rather than posting "feel free to move it" and hoping that one of us reads it, or someone else decides to RTM it for you... saves a lot of messing about.

It's worth taking a look at the konova range, ive the k2 and works well for the money and very versatile in its use

Cheers baron - I've had a look at the k2 and at a couple of hundred quid it's more than I'd probably want to shell out for the limited use its get. The issue is, will anything cheaper actually be worth buying?
 
@danny_bhoy The konovas are really nice. We use an ifootage shark S1 but they are quite expensive too. Prior to that we used a Hague slider from cameragrip.com They have a 0.5m one on at £138 plus postage at the moment. I would say they are worth buying as I've used them myself with good results, just make sure it's stable!

Thanks for the info - I'll check the Hague slider out. Just trying to strike the right balance between quality and value for money as it'll only be used a few times p/month at an hour or so a time.

As a little aside, should I have IS switched on while using the slider to reduce any shake? I only ask as it's always recommended to have it off when using a tripod so wasn't sure if the same principal applied when using a slider.
