is there a big difference between a camcorder and the mkIV video.. can a camcorder costing say 500 quid shoot video in low light situations for example.. like the mkIV can
possibly not explaining myself proper.... in more simple terms.. is the mkIV video really good? what does it compare to?

The quality is what you would have been paying 50-100k for about 10 years ago, apart from a few issues with DSLR footage, such as moire, rolling shutter etc they have completely changed the film industry and made it more accessible to many. The low light performance of the Nikon D3s video out performs some £50k motion picture cameras. The Full frame DSLRs also have an advantage because I can't think of one full frame digital motion picture camera they are mostly S35 which is close to APS-C size
