I've just replaced my old cheap video lights with something a little better, a couple of Aputure Amaran 528 LED lights.
These are great (imo and for my needs) and I'm getting the exact lighting effect on me I wanted, but at the expense of shadows on my background.
I'm wondering the best way to reduce these shadows?
My first thought was to diffuse the light. I tried the cover from my old lights and a white shoot through umbrella I had kicking about - both reduce the light output too much for what I want (although they are both very cheap items, so this may be the issue with this solution).
My next thought was buy another LED light and shine it on the background?
I'm not at all sure what the best approach is here, so thought I'd ask the question.
I'm using a fairly standard 3 point light setup (the hair light is a smaller Aputure LED, but gives the desired effect).
How would you suggest I reduce the background shadows?
