I have been using a quadcopter for the past 3 months with really good photo results, but the video footage is usually jerky. I am now flying smoother and have purchased Vreveal to help stabilize the footage, but when I run it through my editing software, Corel Video Studio Pro X5, it seems jerky. The quadcopter uses the GoPro camera. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=djAO5y7Xc48

There is quite a bit of "jello" as I had the standard camera mount which came with the quadcopter rather than using the GoPro mount, but this wouldn't cause the jerkiness. I have been using Corel for the past 18 months or so with good results and no jerkiness.

Any idea please? Thanks.

Is that video before or after the use of Vreveal?

The video that I've linked is after the use of Vreveal. Before editing, the footage is OK and the Vreveal really does do a good job of stabilizing the footage with no jerkiness. It's after I've ran it through Corel that it goes jerky

Just a thought. Whenever I edit a video (a normal motorsport video rather than anything to do with the quadcopter) it has to play catch up in the timeline due to the amount of information and runs slow. In this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TUm5VUecuRs I slowed the footage down at the start but it isn't smooth. Is this down to the software or the graphics card? Thanks.

I've not used Corel much just Premier Pro, so cant offer much specific advice, but what editing are you doing to the footage in Corel once its passed through Vreveal?

What frame rate was that footage shot with? I would have thought unless it was shot fairly high, the jerkyness there is down to the source footage rather than software/hardware

Once in Corel, I just trim, add titles maybe a little music and transitions. The frame rate is 60 FPS.

Lawrence, what quad are you using by the way?

But more specifically, let's try and remove the problem rather than try and rectify the isue in PP. The GoPro is prone to jello from vibration...
Are your props perfectly balanced? Done with a magnetic balance pref.
Are your motors balanced? Done with the aid of an iPhone/android vib app and square of tape placed on the motor body in the same way you would balance a car's wheel.
Once you have them as near perfect as you can then look at your FC gains to remove and oscillation.
Then look at your results before then looking at vibration isolation of your GoPro (moongel etc)
