Video and picture sharing?

I'm not very computer savvy, so if you can help with this and talk in simple terms it would be great. I'm looking for a way to share videos (high quality with audio) and pictures with one other person. Somewhere where we can both upload stuff to and either of us can view everything. I hear things like 'Cloud' & 'Dropbox' and haven't a clue what it all means. I just want something simple but large, I'm willing to pay for it. Any advice folks?

Dropbox is probably going to do want you need it to. You can setup shared folders. I'm not sure what the cost or limitations are, there is a free account and a paid account depending on what you need. I have one setup with a couple of friends that we occasionally use for big files. For the odd image and general chat we use Facebook messenger. Another option is flickr. You can set up images so they are private or can only be seen by friends or family rather than being public. Flickr has a free account with plenty of storage (1TB). Not sure if you can both upload to one place but you could upload separately and both be able to view each other's accounts.

Google Drive is another option, has a free tier and is relatively cheap when you scale up (£1.59 p/m for 100Gb).

DropBox is a good option with a free and paid for option. Simply put your files are stored on a remote data centre ( This is generally referred to as " The Cloud" ) This is a mirror of a local folder on your computer. So when you make a change tj the folder on your computer it is mirrored on the data centre's version of your folder. This means you can add and delete files on your machine and it will be replicated on your "Cloud" folder. DropBox allows you to share these files either by sending a "Share invitation" to who ever you want, or by copying the DropBox link and sending that by email. The later allows the link to be passed on by the recipient, so be careful with this.

Setting up is easy. Dropbox sends you a set up file . All you have to do is supply the password so that you can log on. The system is fully automatic and updates automatically each time you start your computer. ( Provided you are connected to the internet ). Give it a go. there is a free to use initial storage ( about 3GB I think) so if you can keep to that it won't cost you anything
