63 and have come late to photography. Have a good eye particularly on perspective but very non technical when it comes to exposure shutter speed etc: Don't get on well with camera manuals!!!

Want to learn more and get the best out of my camera. live in the Highlands of Scotland and love taking outdoor scenery pics.

Will be posting some questions. probably very basic and dumb to most of you guys but i need to learn. Always have had point and shoot but now have a panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ18 which i want to get more out of.

Biggest problem is indoors in large buildings, (like Distillery Warehouses). Too large and dark for flash. Tried all sorts of combinations of settings but tend to get browny orangy pics. Know this must be exposure but not sure where to start.

These are the fundamental things i need to know.

Hi and welcome from another newbeeeeeee. A little bit of a mirror image between you and I...both in our youth...with golden locks!!! and the urge to at least try and use some of the capabilities of our camera equipment, instead of just point and shoot. lol. Not to mention the ability to edit in Photoshop....wow...so much to learn when you look at some of the photographic work of members on here...eeek
