Yes
The yard owner where our horse is stabled asked me to do some photographs of their pony and dog for the kids for Christmas. Arranged to do it today as the weather forecast was so good.

Turned up this morning to see the vet standing by a stable with one of the other horses' owner in tears. Turns out her horse was taken seriously ill and, as it has had a heart murmur all of its life, has to be put to sleep. The poor girl was in bits as she has had the horse since it was 3 years old (Now 14). Absolutely gutted for her.

Of course we rescheduled and I left before the deed was done. Really has put a big cloud over a clear sunny day. :'(

Man...

That is a sad one.

Feel really sorry for the poor girl.

Feel sorry for you too and the poor horse...

:(

The poor girl :'(
We all know it can happen, but yes we still have them and put a lot into them.

what we need is to bio engineer animals to live as long as their masters then we wouldnt have to cope with the hurt, it was the aniversery of my dogs death today.

Well she was put to sleep very peacefully yesterday and the mood was very sombre yesterday evening at the yard. But things will carry on, the herd dynamic will change as this particular horse was quite dominant.

Thanks for all your thoughts. Ashers, thinking about your dog today mate, no matter what anyone says they are family.

That is so sad, pets break your heart when they go..they are family members after all.....poor Girl.
