Morning all,
I track my website traffic through Statcounter, which I get a log every day of all traffic. I also check it daily to see how many hits, Page views etc.
Last night, my website was accessed from Oldham at roughly 19:00, and a new page load was made every 2 seconds, until 22:40, resulting in well over 2000 page views by the time it "stopped". Never seen anything like it before.
It says the source was from Oldham and the IP was Virgin Media (86.15.117.7). They entered my site directly on a wedding gallery link, and must have hit every page on my site many many times over. Each page was only accessed for 2 seconds, then a new page was loaded. As such I seriously can't see this being an "actual" human being, as it seems fair too systematic.
Having been on the site today, everything is fine - and it doesn't look like a hacker has been in (secure log in with reporting if incorrect password used for access etc).
I know Google bots do trawls, but having monitored my site for perhaps the last 5 months daily, I've never seen anything like this before.
Any ideas?
