I am after a couple of very portable but hard wearing light stands that will fit in aircraft hand luggage. The Strobist blogspot recomends the LumoPro LP605 which look ideal. Unfortunately I can only find them on a website in Holland. Does anyone know of a UK supplier of the LumoPro LP605 or a suitable alternative.

So does Lencarta, for less money

Which I probably would have purchased if I had realised. But when I looked at your site and viewed the images of your stands none of them appeared to fold down as small.
Looks like the main image for that stand is wrong on the site?

They're the same, maybe I need to take some more photos of it:eek:

I think you would sell more with a photo of them in the closed position.

Thanks for the various leads, are they all the same Chinese product with different branding, or are any of the alternatives better quality.

They are all the same, the only real alternative are the original Manfrotto ones that these are copied from, which are slightly lighter and fold up slightly smaller, but cost a fair chunk more.

And the page itself claims the stand weighs 3kg.

What actually happened here is that the site was moved to a new server for various reasons, but technical problems with the move meant that the information loaded onto the new server was out of date at the time of the move, which meant that some photos disappeared and some info was wrong too.

Problem is, due to other technical difficulties updating the site right now is a very hit and miss affair and nothing can really be done to put things right until the new website, which is now getting close to being completed, is ready.

Did you write the script for that guy from G4S ?

The Lenarta ones work out slightly cheaper if you haven't purchased already. Although I notice the picture still shows a bigger stand.
