Hi there, my name is Colin Metcalfe, a run of the mill father of three boys from Ballyclare in Northern Ireland.
I have no idea why it has taken so long to stick a note in this section. It seems like I have been here for ages at this point. I took up photography seriously last year, in an attempt to record the impending arrival and continued growing of our third son. We had half heartedly got pictures taken of the other boys before, but this had fallen by the wayside due to time, money etc etc.
I was collecting watches at the time and my collection had got to the stage where it was on fun any more, the value was dropping and watches were getting harder and harder to trade in. So I sold them all off, bought 1 watch to do all things and a Nikon d40 kit to get me started. We had had a digital compact, but it didn;t allow me to control what I could see in my minds eye. I needed soemthing more, so off I went. It has been fairly self taught, practising techniques from the internet and magazines and some other stuff I have picked up along the way.
