Hi, I asked my partner for a gimble for Christmas and provided her with a link. Unfortunately the link was www.venturedirect.co.uk and she purchased the order ages ago and still has not returned. We have now only just researched the company and have seen only bad things about it. I have tried to contact people that have written bad reviews but it seems impossible so I came here in the hope that people have had experience with them.

All the reviews say they don’t receive anything, emails do not get answered and no refunds.

Feel sick that companies like this aren’t taken off the internet right away.

I agree with neil_g, speak to your bank.

I had a similar experience ordering some chemicals recently. My bank are refunding me the payment. All they asked for was details of what was ordered, how much it cost and when I expected delivery. In my case it was supposed to be next working day delivery from placing the order. I waited 10 days & tried contacting the supplier 3 times via email, I never received an answer from them. It took the bank less than 48 hours to process my request for a refund.

The thing is with these 'charge backs' there are rules and it does not apply in all cases. I have tried it in the past and my credit card bank would not do it!
I still don't understand why?
Does anyone know the rules on when you can charge back?

I've never really had a problem with chargeback. I've used it twice now and only had to fill in form once and then the other time they took info over the phone so worth a try I think. From what I know, this companies is a Hong Kong based one with a UK storefront. I know some of these seem to work well but others not so well. If a good price was what attracted you, it really always pays off to check them out properly before orders. No help now I know but...

I would imagine if you contacted bank you will be covered from them. It has an ssl certificate on the website so it does appear to be a legitimate website if the bank queries anything if it wasn't ssl I would imagine you wouldn't have a leg to stand on.

I always look at the reviews for a company I have not used before - mainly in my line of work for suppliers of bathroom and kitchen units/appliances etc
It's essential for me or I could be thousands of pounds out of pocket, or have delays in fitting.

Trust pilot is the one I usually use.
In this case it looks like one of the worst reviews I have seen. 585 reviews:

It's not much use to you in this case I'm sorry to say, but for future purchases...

Anyone can obtain a ssl cert, despite Barclays suggesting a padlock is a good indicator of a legitimate site it certainly is not.

oh I know their easily obtained for very little money. With the banks backing the ssl though it at least gives you ammunition for your argument 'well you back the ssl websites and recommend we buy from one'

The purpose of SSL is to encrypt the data transfer between your browser and the website so your supplied payment details are not readable by anyone bothering to look at the data passing between you.
It's no indication that the site is safe to do business with, just that your card info is safe on it's way to them.
Kendo has the right idea when dealing with a new company.

If I am buying anything like that now I just use paypal, I hate them with a passion but they will refund your money real quick.

They have Live Chat. Have you tried that ?
