Hi All

I'm in the process of taking up photography again after a five year absence. When I last owned a medium format camera I had perfectly good vision. Nowadays I rely on a good pair of varifocals. I'm thinking this may cause a problem with a manual focus camera. Can anyone advise whether I would be best off getting a waist level finder or a prism type. If I take my glasses off I can't see anything looking through my Canon DSLR but as this is auto focus it's not a major problem.I'm wondering what type of finder I should go for when I get my new camera, it will probably be a Bronica 6x4.5 or a Mamiya 6x4.5.

Thanks

Dave.

If my memory serves me, and I'm talking about 12 years ago now, I had no trouble using either the waist level finder or the prim finder with my old Bronica, with glasses. But you need to try them out yourself as my experience may be different to yours.

And why not get an eysight correction lens for you Canon. Makes a hell of a difference

Thanks for the info John. I'll try them out if I'm ever in Glasgow before I buy the camera. One draw back to living in the beautiful Scottish country side, it's more than a 200 mile round trip to the nearest camera shop. Unless anybody knows of any closer to Mid-Argyll

cheers

Dave.

I had to switch from varifocal to bifocal for this reason! Most (all?) DSLRs have an adjustable dioptre for viewing, donchaknow?
