Vangelis Has Died

Overshadowed by his other work but I liked Aphrodite's Child.

Loved his music, my fav track has always been "To the unknown man"
Loved his work with John Anderson from Yes, they complimented each other.
For anyone that has been to The Hawk Conservancy, they used to fly The Bald Eagles back into his music
from the film 1492

Great musician with his own unique style

Great legacy and a decent run in terms of years.

SO many wonderful tracks and albums, he really did pair well with Jon A. too.

I try to make a point to listen to the new albums on Qobuz to see what's coming along to (eventually) fill the gap when another of the greats die . I am pleased to say that there is a lot of good stuff coming through IMHO; it's different but it should be.

"Frame of the day" during the World championship snooker in the 1980s on BBC2, one of my introductions to electronic music when I was young. I really like snooker but always wished they'd play more than 30 seconds of the intro music.

I never knew they used if for the Snooker, just looked at the album, it was recorded in 1977
I used to listen to it to relax in front of an open fire, had 2 lovely dogs at the time who used to set off
howling while it played, strangely it seemed a fitting accompaniment
