No
Well I sold a Hasselblad today for probably a silly low price.
Just want to ask a few opinions here as to if i really did let it go for too low.
I know I should have asked here first but anyway.

I put out a feeler on a local irish site and didnt get any response until yesterday.
It was a 500c/m body, 80 f2.8 plannar, 2 x a12 backs, and waist level finder.

All 1990 in excellent condtition.

Id like to know how much I should have charged for it.

Before I tell ye how much I did charge, for fun tell me what you would have paid!

A postage stamp and a half eaten box of jaffa cakes :)

Edit: (That's the jaffa cakes that are half eaten, not the box)

Edit again: And it's not the full number of jaffa cakes, each bitten in half, but half the original number of jaffa cakes, with half being completely eaten. If that makes any difference  :D

haha,
Good work guys im startin to feel better.

I just read the sticky about getting gear valued (right after posting this) but because its already sold then maybe the mods might let this one slide:rules:

Im not sure if this sick feeling is because of what i let it go for or if its the feeling of loss that its now gone. Its like a part of my identity has been lost.

Keep those figures coming!

I'd reckon around the £350 mark on current prices.

ok

here we go.

€750 (677 pounds sterling)

I got €100 then for an old manual metz flash.

All in all i feel a lot better now. i thought i was after doin the right effin ejit  but now ill sleep easier.

Hard to believe though that this quality of camera can be gotten for that kind of money eh.

If its 1990 set, The lens cant be C ( produced till 1982); got to be a CF or CFi.

This kit, in excellent condition and 2 A12 back and clean glass will go for over 800£ on the ebay, if described properly. Could even get upto 1000£.

The shops will probably offer 600£.

So , I am guessing, you got between 550 -650 £; more like 650.

EDIT : Bad timing, but good guess. Ididn't see your post, I swear

yea your right on the money there Ujj.

I thnk the lens was a CF but cant be sure.

I feel I could have gotten more but I suppose its only worth what people are willing to pay
and it was available for sale on a particular site for quite a while.

Its a reflection of the local economy at the moment I suppose.

The guy buying it was over the moon and felt he was getting the deal of a lifetime.
I think he thought I stole it and was trying to offload it.
But he said himself he doesnt use the internet.
Real old school guy.

i edited that lads.
im not sure what type of lens it was (was my dads)
can (and will) find out tomorrow .

I think both of you got a reasonable deal.

A few years ago, buying a hassy at that price was unthinkable. Come on Canon and Nikon, get more and more digital camera on to the market. We need it..:D

Much more.

Adjusting for the devaluation - I doubt that. I think it will fall.

I think as digital cameras improve - better sensors, full frame etc etc, film cameras will become niche. And the film users will retire at a faster rate than being replaced; but the cameras will go on for a long time ( especially since experienced Hassy technicians are plenty.

Why would they reduce though, these are going to become antiques....and rare mint examples will surely fetch an absolute premium?

Gary.

Ah...if its Rare and if its mint.....it might. But there will be many 500 CM Hassy knocking about....

ill resurrect this thread in 10 years time if im still alive and we havent been hit with a huge EMP (in which case the Hassy should be back on the hot property market!).

I sold mine earlier this year, 500cm, 80mm, A12, WLF plus a few filters for £570 via ebay, serious drop in value.
