So a DX lens won't cover an FX sensor. But does the coverage stop exactly at the 1.5 crop area or does it stretch a bit beyond?
So if I use the 11-16mm Tokina lens on an FX camera then could an extra 1mm or so focal length be squeezed out?
This would rely on the FX camera being set to work in FX mode when the DX lens is fitted. I'm not sure if that's possible? Maybe when the FX camera detects the DX lens it automatically switches to DX mode with no possibility of overwriting that?
What I'm essentially wondering is if I can squeeze an extra mm out of the Tokina lens when I finally upgrade to a fullframe camera
