I have a domain I'm not using for anything much. I was thinking of bunging wordpress on there and largely filling it with RSS feeds from other relevant sites.

As RSS is for syndication and spreading of content is it an ok thing to do or is it considered content theft? A lot of the site would be generated from these RSS feeds maybe with the odd original bit from me when I blog about something relevant. I'd be happy if another site had my rss feed so am I right in thinking other site owners would feel the same about another site potentially finding new traffic for them?

It's either that or try and auction it. I bought it on a whim to be a portfolio site but the domain name isn't really suited. It's more suited to an aggregated content site (I don't actually like them!)

The whole IP/copyright thing is a minefield and I'd rather not step straight on one by doing something bad :)

Is this just to be a placeholder on the domain, or are you putting it up to pick-up associate marketing income? I'm not sure how effective aggregater sites are these days. I used to see nothing but pages of them when Googling, but it seems the search algorythms are getting better at spotting and excluding them.

Part placeholder, part content curation sort of thing. I hadn't considered associate marketing income really. There is a tiny thought of it turning into something useful and potentially attracting advertising revenue but that is way off in the distance.

It probably depends on what the content is. If it is a company's press releases it probably wouldn't be a problem.
