Hi again,
I have decided to order the Lencarta Elitepro 4 head kit, which I will order after Christmas. This kit comes with a "WaveSync AC remote trigger and receiver".
I am also going to get a Sekonic L-358 Flash meter with the radio transmitter.
Simple question really.
Will this meter fire the WaveSync receiver, or will I need to buy a different, compatible radio trigger system.

Thanks in advance for the advice. I have already had some great advice on here, and I appreciate it.

Cheers,
Gary.

no.

You can however (with ANY modern flash meter), just press the 'flash test' button on the lencarta transmitter after putting the meter into flash sense mode, and it will just measure when it 'sees' the flash go off. No connection needed. A cheap solution is just to get an extra lencarta transmitter and put it on a keyring with your light meter, so they're both to hand.

You can either use pocketwizards, or phottix/calumet atlas triggers with it. No other radio triggers work with the sekonic plugin. All are expensive (80-130 EACH, and you need at least two.) Get the L-358 without the radio plugin if you don't use these triggers anyway.

Thanks for the reply.
The first option makes it awkward, as if I am doing a shot with the camera on a tripod (I know it won't be on a tripod all the time ) It would be impossible to fire the transmitter on the camera.

Good idea about getting a second trigger and keeping it with the meter though.

Don't want to spend all that money on PW's, although I have read good things about the Atlas, so might consider a pair of those.

Any Idea why the Sekonic will not trigger the WaveSyncs?

Cheers,
Gary

None of the radio triggers will talk to each other AFAIK, Even if they are operating on the same radio frequency, the individual channels will be different

It seems that if I buy the Sekonic without the radio trigger, it will save me around £60, so I will order an extra trigger with my kit, problem solved.
Thanks for the advice.

Cheers,
Gary

:) the way to go. The 358 works great. Also, the extra trigger will give you a backup.

I've got the radio plugin but that's because I use atlas triggers myself, plus I assist a lot of photographers who use pocketwizards.
