hey guys,

just wondered if any of you guys have had experience with using a graphics tablet with GIMP and if it is worthwhile getting hold of a cheap one?

your thoughts please..

cheers, James

Works fine. Makes life a lot easier. I've had a wacom graphire for several years and it has been great. Can't comment on the cheap ones.

I recently bought a Trust TR-16529 tablet which has got a 250x150mm working space for £50 from Currys. It works perfectly well and the only thing that I would like to be able to alter is its movement sensitivity when working in non relative mode.

I'm fairly sure that it was end of line though, so you might have to hunt for one if you are interested; the equivalent Wacom would be about £150.

Edit - I should have said that I'm working with PS rather than Gimp.

Do all (or at least, most) graphics tabs have the touch function for use in other programs, i.e. navigating & scrolling web pages, browsing zooming & rotating photos, etc?

I have watched a couple of youtube videos which show these, but wasn't sure if that sort of thing is kinda standard or specific to certain models?
