Unfortunately my CPL Filter came apart at the weekend, I have just ordered a new one, but it made me think, is there a need for a CPl when using filters such as the 10 stop? I guess using a ND grad some of the image will still have glare? Having never compared using a ND etc without a CPL I just wondered if there was a need?

Thanks.

All the 10 stop does is increase your exposure time. Hence if there are unwanted reflections there will still be unwanted reflections. The Polar will reduce these reflections (in most cases). Polars also effect the polarised light in a blue sky, allowing exposure adjustment of the often brighter sky.

Thanks, thatswhat I thought but just wanted to make sure.

Hopefully the new CPL will arrive today in time for the weekend.
