Using an Epson copier/scanner/printer

I use an Epson DX6050 which prints gorgeously, i'd seen adverts about buying a proper photo printer which has up to 8 inks. mine just has the 4 so do i need a better one ? I understand if replies say if i'm happy with it, stick to it, but seriously am i missing out ?
Also i can't see a colormunki or similar is worth the extra investment.

i just sent off for a free Fotospeed sample pack, i use HP Premium Gloss paper.

What ink does yours take? Although its 4 it does depend on the ink used.

A 4 ink printer will good give results, but a 6 ink printer (1 black and 5 colours) will give better results.

You can get a 6 ink epson for around £60 (new) the R285, which is an amazing printer.

Or I can sell you a 6 ink printer copier scanner thats the same as the r285 for £30 ex demo from work

If you're printing the odd picture then what you have is most likely fine (unless you're like me and just must have the next big improvement).
