I thought I would open a thread for people to share how they pose there bride, grooms and group shots. This isn't a post to steel peoples ideas just if you want to share your work and tips as the portrait poses post seemed to working really well.

The best way is to do a course where you get to practice, you need to build up a relationship with the clients/models. Each client will pose differently depending on their character and you can't really get a 1 shop stop.
Put a nice pose with someone who feels uncomfortable in it and they will never chose it for their album.

Cheers Andy but i didnt lake this thread for my own ideas I though it would be interesting for people to share links and see what good and bad poses people do or have seen on you tube etc.

Like I said I'm not a fan of his poses, but, I don't do much posed stuff at weddings, and being able to get so many different images from a single pose is a real bonus for me.

As for the forced poses, sometimes what feels comfortable, looks awkward in camera and vice-versa.

Agree with that. Most people naturally have a bad poster, slouch, or stand with their shoulder down, etc. Good posing makes you actually look more natural, yet good at the same time.
