Okay, I'm hoping someone can offer me some advice. I'm wanting an upgrade from my 40D and here are my 2 options:
1. Get a used Canon 1D mkII or IIN now.
2. Wait until about september and save yhe extra dosh for the canon 1D mkIII.

I've heard mixed stories about the mk3, and I would love to hear want people think of this camera compared to the mkII or mkIIN. Also, what do you reckon I should pay for a mkII or mkIIN, in good nick?
Cheers for any advice, Mark.

P.S. I'll use it for 95% wildlife photography.

If wildlife ? surely the crop factor of the 40D helps ? how is the 40D limiting you ?

Yeah, there's no problem with the 40D in terms of the crop factor. I will be keeping this as a 2nd body for my 70-200mm lens. I want the 1D for the faster fps, better build, weatherproofing etc. It will be better balanced with my 500mm lens aswell.

They're both excellent. I haven't had any issues with my MkIII up till now :)

Mk III

Mk II

cheers Dod, love the example shots you put up.

I think I'm a bit concerned with buying a used body, as I normally buy new. However, I think for around a 1000 quid I would get a bit of a bargain, I just can't make up my mind.
I think I'm indecisive, am I?, I'm not sure:shrug:

Same as Dod for me as well, both excellent with no problems with the MK111.
