hi all when using lr5 is it possible to use different parts of a photo to make lets say 2 photos. what i mean is i have a pic of 2 members of a group on stage what i would like to do is crop into one of the group, which i think would make a nice image on its own, but one of the other guys on stagewould make a good image, how do i do this please.
and help to keep the site free for all

Crop the image, export as file 1, then go back to the original file, remove your first crop, re crop a second time and re export as file 2.
LR will not change your images, it is a database, you have to export the changed image and save it as a different file.

As others have said I'd make a virtual copies and crop that then export them with the different crops.
You say stage photos but you don't say what camera your using or how much your cropping in. Stage photos are often in low light,cropping means your selecting sometimes just a small part of an image, neither of these tends to be good for image quality. If you've used high ISO that'll also affect quality (although it depends a lot on the camera) I've done as many as 5 different pics from one shot (just for a demo once) but that was just playing, but it can be done. I'd say give it a go, you've nothing to lose.
