Yes
Has anyone had any experiance using one?

I have one about three metres long, seems to work fine.
Think its good up to about five metres before some form of amplification is required

Normal ones go up to Five meters before you get signal problems. However you can get "Active" repeater extension leads in both USB2 and USB3 which seem to be offered in much longer lengths. I have never used an active one so do not know how reliable they are. but they seem to have good enough reviews.

Cheers.

I was looking at 3M so thats good to hear.

I've used a 3m for connection to various cameras and Focal Pro without any issues.

IIRC my 5m USB3 extension is an Amazon basics one and it seems to work fine. Not sure if the speed's affected or not, it's only a USB3 one because it put the order over £20 for free delivery!

I also used the Amazon basics 5m one with no problems (before I changed cameras). (y)

Yeah I used a 3m Amazon Basics one quite a bit for tethering the D800 and it was fine though I taped the connection together just in case.

Then I realised that was silly and just bought a 3m cable (not extension) used some Sugru to fit it to the camera and taped it in place :) 3m is as far as I really want to be from the laptop.
