I'm getting a little tired of UK TV and paying for things that are mostly repeat; I'm vaguely interest din getting HBO etc, all the popular US channels since the content I watch on UK channels inevitably originates here; I am not locked into any pay TV contract but would like to investigate streaming and using the different VPN etc to fool my network to thinking I'm there. Long story short, any personal recommendations? Programs will be watched primarily through Apple TV and supported apps or the iPad.

Much appeared in advance!

Thanks

I have no idea but if you think that by watching US TV,you are going to get no repeats, you are sorely mistaken.

Don’t forget the the majority of crap on TV is from the states so that’s what you’re going to get by watching US TV.

I would recommend paying for a Netflix subscription.

My experience from when I lived in the USA was that aside from a handful of headline series, which we get over here anyway, the rest of what's shown on US TV is worse than dross.

The exception is their sports coverage, which is pretty good but almost entirely US centric.

The main reason I ended my Sky TV subscription a few years ago was due to the amount of American TV content... I have no interest in watching Americans felling trees, mining gold, looking for antiques, bidding on the contents of lock-up containers, or driving trucks. If I had, I would go and live there! In all honesty, I've not missed satellite TV one bit, and it's saved me £100s per year too.

Ignoring the obvious that everyone else has answered.

The question asked is ‘how do I breach copyright’, and as this is a forum for content providers, perhaps @stickytape should ask elsewhere, perhaps on an AV forum where those issues are less antagonistic.

yeah this is the truth to be fair, I am sure the rules of this site explicitly forbid this type of discussion.
plenty of sites out there about this though, however broadly speaking it is all about proxy services.

Erm, pretty much what he said...

Mind the doors folks :)
