well if you were fat and couldn't be arsed to chase someone......... a ranged weapon seems a lot handier :p

bet you the spectator won't do that again though. Personally I am all for 'heavy' law enforcement, although I do admit this appears a bit too heavy handed. I wonder how many 'yobs' in the US are as gobby as the miscreants here in the UK?

yeah thats an amazing Idea we could randomly attack people with tazers, like lazer tag but more aggressive.

I've been travelling to the US for 20 years now and have almost been to every state. For all the bad press and depictions on film and tv that the Americans get here, 99.9% have all come across as very polite and friendly, even in the seedy areas that I have walked through. My encounters with the police have been good too [numerous meetings and discussions over speeding and other stuff].

Having said that, on my recent visit to New Orleans a cab driver warned me about taking photos of the police there. He told me about a press photographer who was beaten badly by the New Orleans police in recent times after taking a photograph of them. He took them to court and the police won. I vaguely recall the case made the news over here too. The cab driver said they were evil and corrupt. So there are a few bad ones around.

I am not even going to entertain an argument on this..as I said, this appeared too heavy handed. However, once again, as stated, personally I am in favour of strict policing of the law. I am not saying it should be implemented or that the police should go silly, however, once again, it's my personal opinion.

Looks to me like the cop is in motion on the pic and as we all know photographs can be deceptive :bat: !!!!
 
I agree with the use of force. Cop/security guard might not have been compltely sure if the "fan" was just that, or some crazed lunatic who was intent on harming the players or worse, possibly trying to detonate an explosive device. Granted the last part is an extreme, but its better to shoot first, and ask questions later when there is a non lethal option available.
 
Well he won't be running onto a pitch quite so quickly next time will he :)

Personally, I think tasers are a waste of money. I don't see what's wrong with the old-fashioned methods.
 
If thats the video of him, then it looks like he was weaving in an out of the players and security. The cop is also chasing him by the looks of it?
The guys an attention seaking prat. He'll not do it again in a hurry. The fans seemed to enjoy the entertaiment though. :D
 
So when are they going to Taser a streaker ?
 
I'd say it was reasonable, the guard could of used his gun :p

At the end of the day, if you are going to break the law and act like an idiot then expect the consequences.

And its a real shame that photo was a second or two later, just as the taser went off :p

If the "terrorist threat" had been a 19 year old girl with her baps out they would have just chased her about a bit, the cop was on a power trip
