Guys & Gals,

Need to get a print off for a canvas for someones birthday! Just went to crop in PS CS3 and thought - now what do I crop at if I want to keep maximum size & quality?

Print is a JPEG at 300 DPI so will keep it at that DPI, but just not sure what to put in the size boxes for width & height, obviously need to keep the aspect ratio.

O.K for prints you can just set it to 8 x 10, 7 x 5 or whatever but never done a print this size before.

BTW - Canvas will be at 30 x 20, should I just put that in and crop to that?

HELP!!!!!.....

Yes ... but wait for more replies as I ahve been known to be wrong multiple times a day :)

You will need to decide if you want the image to wrap or just be on the face with either black or white edges. Best to talk with your supplier to get exactly what they need.

Thanks Haggis, but yes it will be wrapped about 40mm ish I think! Will be Loxley doing it but there turn-a-round is 3-5 days and I need it for next weekend, hence needing to get if off soon as.

Cheers

As the aspect ratio of your image is 3:2 out of the camera - the same ratio as your intended finished product - surely the way to get the highest quality is not to crop it at all. That way you aren't losing any pixels and will get the highest resolution possible.
