Urgent help required

Hello, I have just had a phone call from my missus who works in a restaurant and one of her customers is sat their looking very unhappy.
He has a 500D canon and it is coming up with error 20 on it.
Does anyone know what this is and can it be fixed as he is about to embark on his last day of photographing the Cornish coastline ?

Someone the other day posted a link to the Canon site explaining what the error codes meant. I will see if I can find it around.

Usual stuff to be getting on with - take out battery, remove lens, take out internal battery.

Thanks, he has done the usual stuff
I have his mobile number so I can phone him as soon as anything is discovered. From what I have read after doing a search it looks like it will have to be sent off

not good news

only thing to try is
1. reseat the lens and check the contacts are clean (try another lens)
2. remove and replace the memory card
3. remove and reseat the battery
4. switch back on again

If that does not work, its back to canon

Excellent, we have a result, he cleaned the lens contacts etc etc and he now has a working canon again.
He sends his thanks and will be joining the Forums as soon as he gets home from his Holiday.
