Upgrade to D7200 or new lens(es) or both?

Hi, I currently have a Nikon D90 which I’ve had for about 8 years. I use the 18-105 kit lens it came with.
The combination has served me well but I would really like to update to the D7200.
I shoot mainly family stuff, children, pets (both fast moving in their own ways!) and a bit of landscape photography as well. I’m wondering whether buying the D7200 with the 18-140 lens would be a good choice or whether I should get the body only and but a 35 or 50mm lens to allow for faster focus? Will my old 18-105 lens still be a good lens to use on the D7200? Or should I just buy a 35/50 mm lens for now and not bother with the expense of a D7200? So many questions... any thoughts will be greatly appreciated!

If it was me I would get a d7200 and 50mm 1.8g.

I have owned both of them and a d90.

The d7200 is a worthwhile upgrade on a d90.

Related question - is a 18-105 bought today the same as I already own or would it be an improved lens given that it will be 8 years younger?

And would it be worth considering an 18-140?

It depends because sometimes they wont update a lens for a very long time.

As far as I know they will have a slightly different name like adding a mk 2 or ii or g2 or a letter etc.

I don't know about zooms much, I have the 55-200 and its ok.

Have a look at amazon reviews and other reviews of it and see peoples feedback after owning the lens for a while.
