Hello guys,

I own a Nikon 80-200mm AFS lens and use it on my Nikon D600.

It is a fab lens and i've got some great shots with it but i just wondered if it would be a good idea to upgrade to a Nikon 70-200mm VR1?

Regards

Tim

Optically there isn't going to be much in it, all you'll gain is VR so you need to consider if that will be helpful for your shooting.

Having owned both I would stick with the 80-200 mm afs lens.
iMO and many others it's still the sharpest lens Nikon have made in that focal length range.

Had the af rather than afs but my vr1 beats the 80-200'hands down. At higher shutter speeds it was fine but below 1/500 it was poor.

Being also an 80-200 AF-S owner, I wonder what you are hoping to gain, or what you are not getting from your 80-200.
Of course there is a place for VR, but I don't need it myself.
The 80-200 AF-S is one very nice and very quick and accurate to focus lens, I won't be changing mine any time soon.
