Hello All,

Asking for a bit of advice here...

Been away from photography for a while. I have an old Nikon D300 which is a really good camera. But, I suppose technology has moved on ever since I've owned the D300. Looking at upgrading to a D7500 or a D810 due to their higher resolution pictures, better ISO for low light shooting, and Wireless capabilities. I don't want to spend an arm and a leg as it is a nice hobby for me. I have a few good AF-S lenses so, they need to compatible with them as well.

Any suggestions, please?

Regards

KP

I had a D500 briefly, that is one hell of a camera and if i went back to Nikon i would get another

FX lenses are heavy and expensive is the problem

I think for me it would depend on circumstances, if you just want to get back into photography and see it as possibly being a short term fix before the camera goes back on the shelf until the next time the urge gets you, then assuming you have FX lenses the D750 will do all of the above and can be bought for very sensible money now. If you are looking at getting back into it and can see yourself sticking at it longer term, then it is hard to overlook mirrorless, and the Z50 with adaptor will give you a lot of camera for your money, plus future proofing. The ftz adaptor works really well with F mount lenses apparently so you won't lose anything there, and it won't matter if you have DX or FX lenses on the crop sensor since your D300 is also a crop anyway.
