Hi All,

Being a bit dim here, I have managed to up load previously, but lately its been either 'too big' a file, so got it down to 146 kb, now it says it's too wide!

So what is the ideal resize size please.

800 x 600 (max) seems to work well.
 
Hi seem to remember it's 800 pixels along the longest length
 
The posting rules at present state 800x800 max, and not more than 200KB file size.

I thought that was the case, but going to that size they seem far smaller than others have posted, hence the querie.

Also wondered what is the best software you use, still cant get my head around PSE 8

The people who are posting larger shots than 800x600px are using other image hosting services such as Flickr or their own web-storage solutions. Even with the external storage locations, they should be posting no more than 1024px wide and 800px high.

hi cheech,

if you just want to re-size, crop and make a few adjustments to brightness / contrast etc.. then you may as well download free software such as picasa or faststone... they both work a treat and are easy to use.
