North England Unknown village

I drove through this charming little village, somewhere near Leyburn/Aysgarth. Beautifully pretty and with a working worm wheel.
I'm not sure what the name of the village is, or the purpose of the worm wheel which was turning furiously.
Any help?

As above, its an Archimedes Screw for generating power. https://www.local.gov.uk/bainbridge-uses-hydropower-economical-scheme
