Uniqball - anybody got one - or is there something more effective?

I am looking for something that will work like a gimbal on my monopod with my new [to me] 400DOii [weight is an issue for me].

I have found Uniqball after looking on the net. Does anybody have one? Or something similar. I have a Wimberley but, as others have said, that is too cumbersome on a monopod.

I have an uniqball and I find it to be pretty good, but I’d never use It on my monopod, I use a tilt head for that.

I’ve not used the uniqball on a monopod, only on a tripod. It could work but I would need to keep the monopod straight. There is nothing to say it wouldn’t work but there are probably cheaper/better options for monopods. It does work well on a tripod.

If looking at the uniqball have a look at the flex shooter / flexline (not sure which it’s called now). It’s roughly the same but has spring to hold it level.

I have used my Uniqball heads on a monopod, and don't find them of much value. The monopod rotates left to right more easily than the uniqball does, most of the time. So I found that when panning sometimes the head was panning and sometimes the monopod was rotating.

Additionally, I didn't find that the "damped" part of the head gave me enough adjustment and usually ended up using the course ball adjustment that meant having the Uniqball an expensive waste of time. But this is the way I use the Monopod, which I keep close to its tallest so I can quickly adjust the height by increasing how steep an angle I set the monopod. I try to create a "tripod" with my two legs and the monopod.

The Uniqball still comes into its own when I'm in a more static position, e.g sitting in a hide where I can take full advantage of the Uniqball features, but for walking about, grabbing bird pictures I have gone back to a simple Manfrotto tilt-only head. Still not perfect, but seems a good compromise.

Wimberley have a compact head designed for monopods . https://www.tripodhead.com/products/monopodhead-main.cfm

How about a @GyRob lensmaster heads, They even do a monopod head..

Although bulkier than the Wimberley I suggested, that seems it might be a better design as the lens weight is above the monopod rather to one side.
