Hi all,
I wanted to make you aware of a unique photography opportunity on the 23rd August. I work with Merlesque, the UK's top mermaid performance company. We often have a lot of interest from photographers who would like the opportunity to shoot our specialist underwater models, but of course the costs of equipment etc. for an underwater shoot, or for hiring a photographic-quality tank are extremely prohibitive. We're therefore conducting a bit of an experiment and running a photoshoot on the 23rd August at the Peterborough Aquatheatre, giving photographers the opportunity of trying out underwater photography with our models, without getting their feet wet!
This event is special because it's not for profit (hence why I'm advertising it here!) We are charging £55 per photographer, and this will *only* cover the costs of hiring the Aquatheatre - our models and assistants are not getting paid (not even travel costs!). The idea is that it's a bit of a test of concept to see if there is enough interest to run these shoots on a commercial basis in future. So this is the only time we will be able to run this event so cheaply!
You can find out more on our website at: http://www.realmermaids.co.uk/photoshoot or you can contact us with any questions.
We have three one-hour slots available, and photographers will be in groups of no more than five. Each group will have time with two experienced underwater models; one in full mermaid costume, and one in human form. If there are any particular props or poses or other ideas you would like to shoot, we're very much open to suggestions!
Lighting will be set up by an experienced underwater photographer in advance of the first group arriving, as this can take some time to adjust for an underwater shoot, and we will have taken test shots to ensure it is perfectly adjusted. You're very welcome to bring additional flashes etc. - again, please contact us if you have further questions!
