So, as I quite often see, one of the key elements to becoming a great photographer is understanding lighting and how it affects your shot, and how to compensate in any lighting condition.
My question is, is this something that can be taught or is it entirely through practical experience that you pick this up? I understand that photography is one of those things where experience plays a massive part in your development as a photographer, like many other things, but is there some basic tutorial about understanding lighting, as it baffles me at the minute really?
